After working around the ZK lobby problem (by reverting to the older lobby), spring is now crashing every time I try to run it.

The 91.0 engine reports:
[f=0000000] Error: Floating point exception (SIGFPE) in spring 91.0 (OMP)
[f=0000000] Error: Stacktrace:
[f=0000000] Error: <0> /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpthread.so.0(+0x10340) [0x7f9ad5624340]

And the 98.0 engine reports:
[f=0000000] [CrashHandler] Error: Segmentation fault (SIGSEGV) in spring 98.0.1-270-gcfa53e8 LockFreeLua
[f=0000000] [CrashHandler] Error: Halted Stacktrace for Spring 98.0.1-270-gcfa53e8 LockFreeLua using libunwind:

does this happen if you launch Spring directly?

If I just run spring (no parameters), I get a menu with no text. Clicking various things works, in terms of bringing up other menus, still no text.

Trying to run a demo (91.0 engine) gave:
[f=0000000] Loading Radar Icons
X Error of failed request: GLXBadLargeRequest
Major opcode of failed request: 155 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 2 (X_GLXRenderLarge)
Serial number of failed request: 3006
Current serial number in output stream: 3014

Using the --safemode option gave:LuaRules: Loaded gadget: CustomUnitShaders_91 LuaRules/Gadgets/customunitshaders/91_main.lua

Are there other commandline options that I should supply?

If I run the 98 engine with no parameters and click the right things, it tries to start the game, and I get:
[f=0000000] [CrashHandler] Error: Segmentation fault (SIGSEGV) in spring 98.0.1-270-gcfa53e8 LockFreeLua
[f=0000000] [CrashHandler] Error: Halted Stacktrace for Spring 98.0.1-270-gcfa53e8 LockFreeLua using libunwind:

Does it happen if/when you run other Spring games?

I don't have any other spring games.

However, I seem to have fixed the problem.

While working on it, I found that glxinfo was reporting that direct rendering was off again. I ended up updating my video drivers (NVIDIA), again, which fixed the direct rendering and fixed the text on the menus when I run spring without any parameters. I don't know if it was rebooting the computer, updating the video drivers, or something else that fixed it.

Sorry for the trouble.
