So I got really bored and wanted to see if I could somehow get something across the border to the enemy side before time ran out on the Downcount v2 map, and I did : https://imgur.com/18sZyqP . I sent a jumper bot construction bot across by jumping at the wall at an angle. Most times it didn't work, it worked on my third try. lol

Nobody could shoot however before time ran out, so I got busy building close range stuff, like stardusts. It didn't turn out great, but oh well.

Downcount v2 is silly, hacky and not endorsed by ZK. If it breaks that's good, one less retarded map for noobs to vote on.

The script is most simple: the one check that it does is most primitive and lazy. It can be fooled. There are several tricks, jumping is just one.
Stricter script would imo not make it a better map.

More interessting than making super-duper-strict script (technically possible) is to look what players come up with.
But I know of no way that a unit can accidently get across, it all requires some deliberate decision and it is up to players if they want to allow that or see it as lame/cheating.

Starlight and iwinbutton both ignore the rules too

If you're willing to let it silently break, then just remove it. If not, then I think it should be fixed because these bugs violate the spirit of the map.

"Just let it rot" seems like a problematic approach in the long run.

Removing maps is pointless (any random nub can reupload).

Culture would need to change instead, and can be forced to if need be.

iwinbutton has no weapon in the usual sense: it's script destroys units by other means.
(Starlight probally similiar.)
One can imagine many such "specials", so I decided against playing such cat-and-mouse game because it would never end.
As side-effect it adds an interessting layer of experimenting: Players seem to enjoy trying to "beat" the map.

Taking that away does not make the map more fun.
If you do not like it, just agree not to try such things. All "breaking" I know of requires a deliberate decision.

If you want to talk about "spirit of the map" then one should first think how a team even managed to build Starlight or iwinbutton in the first place?

-10 minutes is too long for zK. Use mapoption to make it shorter. (not possible in zero-K lobby)

I've seen detri rushes succeed with standard settings, but it was super well timed, with not a second to spare.

I don't think starlight is thus plausible. Well maybe if you reclaim factories and such?

No idea, the replays are all 0 kb.
I guess with large teams enough and/or metalmulti anything is possible.
