Suggestion for a new ranking rather than elo

I personally do not think that the ELO ranking is the more appropriate. It would be very good (reliable) if all games would be FFA, but most are not FFA.
So a good player can lose a game where his weaker allies lose badly and the good player gets base invaded while he was doing good in his front. That's just an example but it shows how average players can win over a very highly rated ELO player.
I propose to use the ranking that www.freechess.org (FICS) uses. The free internet chess server uses a ranking different from ELO with some advantages over the ELO. Like for example it is time dependent. By that I mean that someone that hasn't played within 1 year gets a less reliable ranking and his "points" will fluctuate much more easily than a regular player, until he plays some amount of games withing a rather short period of time.
If you're interested in this rating system (which does not differ that much from ELO), let me know and I'll investigate on FICS the exact mathematical formula to calculate the ratings. But from my own experience, it's pretty reliable.

system is not actual elo. Its weighted elo that also protects experienced players frm losing too much elo due to nub allies. Time would not help us much.

You can see that elo is not changed for all people same after game. Likewise team elo is not a simple average, its weighted average.

Of course it was obvious to me that everyone changes ELO differently after a game. I'm guessing that each rating changes with respect to the average ELO of the ennemy team. But somewhere in the formula, I'm thinking the number of players also matters. More players=less change in ELO after the game.
Ok so basically the current system is reliable? I'm having a ELO of 1590 while many 1400's players are much, much stronger than me. (CarRepairer is the perfect example).
I'd be glad if you could put here the mathematical formula used to assign/calculate the ELO of the players. Or give me the link to a website wit the formula.
Thanks a lot.

Every battle always moves same number of elo points around, does not matter how many people.
If you have higher elo than car it means you should beat him in most games, only way to check that is to 1v1 him :-)

We dont have the formula anyway you would have to check the source codes.
