so i have just been banned from this game for being a smurf?
do you even check IPs before banning someone, to see if they really are a smurf?
Maybe i have past experience with spring games?

GG this maybe why your player base is shrinking and i do not plan on returning either

As a side measure I suggest to stop banning "potential" smurfs and instead buff their elo

Can also ATrankhokomoko be banned? Just look at his first games! What a tiny whiny blue bastard.

logic is as follows:
"you gud? SMURF! BAN! AFHBDGJGRGNRJGB"
"you bad? git gud!"

Solution: make another account and try to play worse. Then get better. Thats what I did.

Obviously you are a smurf then. If you have experience with previous spring games okay.
Lets see how far we get.

I want to take this opportunity to highlight the fact that SMURFING IS NOT AGAINST THE OFFICIAL RULES.
Thank you for your attention.

What's also interesting is that Chesti only banned Dummy after losing against him for the first time. There were a few games previous to that: one where Dummy was an enemy who lost, one where Dummy was an ally and won and about a dozen where Chesti was a (probably afk) spectator. However, I assume that was just a funny coincidence.

Playing with smurf accounts ruins the game balance and the player experience along with it.

PLrankOrfelius ruining games is not against the rules. Only intentionally ruining games is against the rules.

in any small community banning should be an absolute last resort for the worst offenders who have repeatedly refused to reform

And new accounts of experienced players need a way to get into the game without facing a witch-hunt. Now that ZK is split from the official Spring server just imagine some BA/NOTA/XTA/ZK players from the official server wanting to join via ZKL. Or think of Godde's/rANDY's/...'s siblings/friends/..s, taught via VOIP, joining and beating average players left and right after learning the ZK-basics from playing two or so games offline.

As I also recall bringing up Skasi's point, I was banned by DErankChesti a while back for creating harmless alt account.

This is not the first time DErankChesti has banned someone for reasons that aren't even in the CoC.

DO NOT Intentionally ruin games

In my case elo difference was about 10. No reason for ban.

there are no harmless alt accounts. every alt account creates (unnecessary) extra work for admins. if there is no reason why you absolutely need an alt, then dont make one. and if you do, tell admins.

smurfs are being hunted because smurfing is bad hmkay. playing against 2k+ elo players disguised as firsttimers is no fun. dont blame the admins for having to do this and potentially make mistakes, blame the players that smurf.

Suggestion: Somewhere in the account creation process include a reminder that if you are creating a smurf or somebody else in your household plays or whatever, send a message to an admin.

Its the "whatever" part of this suggestion that I take issue with for obvious reasons.

Uuh not really, it doesn't need to.. unless you talk about imaginary "work" invented by some weird dev that doesn't really serve any purpose.

No. Not allowing players to smurf is bad, for many reasons. One reason (important for ZK): It creates unsolvable problems.

Then let players tell the database that they are not firsttimers. For a start the -400 fake elo could be lifted for players who want it. There are less than 30 active 1800+ elo players (see ladder), all others would be relatively close to the starting 1500. (200 elo difference ~ 76% vs 24% win chance)

blame the players that smurf

Please don't tell me who to blame.
