With all the discussion at the moment about COC and behaviour is it worth maybe having a more lenient attitude at the weekend? People are more likely to be in high spirits and might say or do seomthing which would normally be out of character?

Its probably a really silly suggestion, but I thought I would mention it anyway for consideration.

A room where people can insult each other without fear of punishment. A room where people can teamkill, selfd, spec cheat and build metal storages on mexes...
This sounds like an awful idea. I like it.

ok I am on board with this, but if it could only appear say from a Friday night until Sunday Evening. Kind of reminds me of the movie "The Purge".

katastrophe, ElTorero - Make a private room and make up whatever rules you wish. It's not hard to do and you don't need anyone's permission.

Matsuda - If by "lenient" you mean "not inflicting penalties for doing or saying something that would normally be out of character" then the moderators should be lenient all the time, not just this weekend. In such cases the moderators should be issuing warnings, not penalties. Penalties should only be given when warnings aren't enough to stop someone from behaving badly.

Are private rooms excempt from rules? Can one insult or teamkill anyone there without punishment? (I don't think so...)

I've dug into this, and I can't find a clear public statement on the matter one way or the other from any devs or admins.

I believe there is a consensus within the community (but not a clear and strong consensus) that yes, indeed, whoever makes a private room can stipulate any rules they wish for social behavior within that room.

Personally, I certainly agree with that sentiment and would push for it to be encoded in the CoC.
