Better porc instead of losing one base after another (if you are noob).
If firewalker kills your arty and def, spam pitbulls

DDM has 10k health and can use 800->0 dps heatrays even without grid!

And now the pro tips:

Spiders:
Use 4 Spys - one to stun Firewalker, and 3 to stun Sumo. Now you should have at least 3 Recluses to kill the firewalker. You killed 1300 metal and lost only 0 or 1 spy.

Keep the sumo stunned and kill only the assisting stuff ( Constructors, AA, ... ) Wait for your spys to reload ( and attack only 1 after another to keep it stunned ) and you have nearly infinite time to kill it. After that you are likely to have killed 4000 metal at all with an 2000 metal investment. And you got the wrecks.

Jumpies:
Make 2 skuttles and enough energy. aks your ally for valkyries to fly over burning area directly into the sumo (with your skuttle-transports) or make a gunship factory + 2 valkyries by your own ( 720 metal ).

Cloaky:
Spam hammers, snipe the Firewalker (but don't use common paths where the firewalker will set your Sniper under fire)

Shields:
Don't spam shield bots or even Felon.
Make Rogues and 1 single shield against Firewalker.
If your enemy is stupid - and only then - Rakeeters might also work.

Amphibious:
Spam Buoys, rezz your enemies or if you have a Grizzly, stay as far away as you can.
It is not the most versatile factory - unless you got nice things to rez.

Heavy vehicles:
NOT GOLI - Sumo will jump on it and it will stuck.
You can spam one of the two raiders. 3.2k in Panthers will kill it (but be carefull with jump).
The best thing I can think of are 3 Ravagers (I hope none of yours died so far?)

Light Vehicles:
Ravager spam - 8 Ravagers ( 2000 metal ) make 1000 dps ( 2 Sumos ) and have 18500 HP.
Don't let it stomp your ravagers!
Stay at max range!

Hovers:
10 Scalpels with 3 shots of each should kill it.
You can use Halberts and set the halbert which is targeted to hold fire.
This one will have about 4000 HP (with armor) and the others do 125 dps.

Gunships:
Spam gnats or Brawlers / BDs

Air:
Use either 16 shadows, 8 shadows 2 times, 5+ shadows 3 times or 2 Lichos 4 times.
After all air is an assisting factory, which requires your allies to do some damage by their own.

Ships:
WTF - a floating sumo XD
But if you really need to kill a sumo with this factory, use 3 Crusaders ( 2100 metal ) which can attack deep into coasts ( 700 range, a bit more than Stinger ) and do 375 dps
You can use them against any other static or submerged target afterwards.

Firewalkers are terrible. I don't think you need special counters.

firewalker used well (put it on hold fire, hold move and no unit AI)

dont forget the E to cloak 4 spies and if you lose 1 or two spies this strat is GG. the skuttle need the trans and that costs more then the sumo did and the firewalker survives.


infact against sumo and firewalker your best off making an ultimatum for 2500 m (athena is 100 cheaper then strider hub ;) )

mostly you get sumo to 70% health with a few units.

Then a 600m fac, 80m transport and 500m skuttle - 1200 metal.

If you have either jumper or gunships it is the cheapest way.

2 transports and skuttles, 1260 metal.

Air is not coast effective
is a problem if someone rushes a sumo
i think best is stun it
