I love it for fair teams and no clanstacking:

"6 players balanced to 2 teams (ratings 1=1851 : 2=1412 (7%)). 7 combinations checked, spent 0ms of CPU time

please wait, game is about to start"

In the end, its either that, boring wait times for teams to equalize, or conflicts between teams. Truth be told I can live with dealing with that cause really PW gives me some semi-solid goals to strive for(as bad as I can be at times).

I think normal people who have no clan or whatever related to PW shouldnt be allowed to play in PW at all just because it can ruin experience totaly because you will be in worst team. Random nabs vs whatever.

Yeah, IMO PW should be 1v1-3v3. Hell even 4v4 would solve basically all of these problems.

Perhaps allow some system where if you have, say, 5 GBC and 5 M6 online and they can make a balanced match against each-other, you can play. Otherwise, it splits the teams up into manageable, balanced groups.

PW should have total control over creating rooms and balancing them. This should just be how PW works, 'it comes with the territory accept it'. If people can accept awful clanstack games, they can accept this.

Normal games have had cbalance for a while. PW just makes players more active and organized.

It also puts other faction members in team.

^ might even give a nice story: "During the approach to Planet XY, your fleet got separated in a meteor field, blocking all communication...youre forces land at distance areas. Prepare to engage the enemy!"

The outcome the depends on the two battles going on...sounds...as long as it helps to reduce the ELO differences...

As I said to Pxtl, it doesn't matter if its 1v1 or 10v10, elo abuse will happen. Also, how do you know we wouldn't end up with the same play issues we had with the small games rooms?

You'd just have PW manage the games to match the planets with ships around them to reasonable games with the players.

Problem is there is no way you personally can preference playing on planet over another unless we bring back some kind of personal ship mechanism.

@ Jasper: But normal teamgames use normal balance if clanbalance would be too imba. I thought PW did this too? But apparently not.

Balance is exactly same as in normal room except that attackers are in team 1 and defenders (if planet is owned) team 2.

Thats the only extra constraint. Other people are cbalanced, if it has elo diff > 150 its balanced only.

I can confirm, I played in that game (We exited though, then played this one, which was almost as bad Multiplayer B94812 14 on Industrial Revolution v1).

Oh, wait, "if it has elo diff > 150" statement only applies to 'leftover' players who are not involved.

A PW game with more than 65% win rate or so for any one team should just not start.

Players can either sit a game out to make it to start or they can wait for more balanced teams.

Well right now after playing the last few, the loosing team is mostly people who want to play normal. Im starting to wonder if an ELO requirement is needed for PW.

Splitting attackers or defenders was much worse. It total defeated the purpose of planetwars.


specing maybe ok. However, it would need to spec high elo first. In order to maximize faction player count. Still seem strange
