What if there was a way, as a spectator or when watching replay, you could click on someone's name on the right and it would highlight that player's units?
What does everyone think?

It's already pretty easy to distinguish units because of the colors...
If all units in one team have the same color for you, you can change it using some button on the top left.

It's really not that easy to tell the difference between the colors sometimes, and even then you have to spend some time finding them on the map.

Not by clicking on the right, but there is a way:
In Settings->Interface->Spectating click "View Chosen Player", then click on "Select Next Player" (you can define hotkey for this) several times until a unit of the player you are interested in selected, then CTRL+A.
