I realize now that I only won this because at time 11:30 USranktherxyy decided that rather than just walking his 3.3k army right up to my fac and it's 2 Bulkhead defence and killing everything he was going to... bravely run away? :S

The Bulkheads seemed to be cutting through things fast. I'm not sure a push would have worked.

The Pyros abandoning their comm seemed more significant. Was that a widget jump? I feel like she could have been saved.

Eh?!

At 11:25 USranktherxyy's army has twice as much burst as mine has total HP! Also has 6.3k hp which my two bulkheads would have taken a solid minute and a half to chew through even if his army was on hold fire.

this game Q_Q

going to dohieu live edit me rewatcing this replay:

for the earlygame:

I was trying puppy because I really don't like getting an early pyro out. its pretty expensive and can only control limited space. i was planning to use puppy + constable as a shoddy defense, but it seems like it just doesn't work.

yeah I fucked up, and put pyros on 99% jump. I actually did want them on that, because the idea is that they would instantly jump away after 1 duck shot hitting, but I failed to realize that most of the pyros weren't on full health

(that idea doesn't even work anyways, the duck shots might be synchronized burst it down at the same time, its not like they fire 1 by 1)

Losing the commander was super heavy though, since it means I wouldn't be able to repair my units, and I think jumpbots are super reliant on good repair usage

I only have 10 moderators here, while you had 2 bulkheads positioned, 1 bulkhead reinforcing, and another bulkhead in production.
My moderators were also taking fire as they were approaching. Its not really that crazy to not be too confident to trade here. I really didn't want to attack because its generally pretty risky to just push an unsupported ball of skirmishers into the opponents base full of bulkhead.

I probably could have spread and pushed, with more foresight, and better knowledge of how moderators do against bulkheads, but I've died to bulkhead too much to try and be risky against it in a matchup I don't know much about

(also interesting to note that bulkheads are actually 10 cheaper than moderators, wow! Your two bulkheads at 11:25 probably could have even made cost if I pushed in)

However, that part isn't the most offensive.

The worst part is when you actually do put the bulkheads in the center, I end up killing them, and I take really good trades, until I walk my entire army into pyro flame.

Had I just paid attention to my army more, I could have probably stomped to your base, or at least control the reclaim field.
