Who is Firepluk and why do some think he's a legend while others say he's an example for others not to follow?

I have kind memories of his playstyle. A legend, just like moepmoep, who chose rl over gaem.

he 'invented' the term lobster, that was his way to say you're a nub without saying it, and avoid getting into trouble.
he invented some nice troll technique, involving newtons and many funny stuff, and that's also why (I suppose) the unit's name and function of lobster come from, I think it's an hommage. And ... he got into some trouble with admins ... resigning right at the start of games sometimes... And some other stuff I don't rmb.
I found that in my history of thread

Was he perma-banned? I was compared to him and some other guy (forgot his name) and I expected it wasn't good to be associated with being like them.

Firepluk was warned
warned
like, Aqua (or was it GF) slid into their dms with a fancy popup box and a little message to not be so toxic
(they were admittedly a bit toxic)

The result was a multi-thread epic forum battle of proportions the world has never seen >w<
Pluk eventually left, I think, idk, I zoned out after the 3rd thread with 4+ pages of thesises
All because of one fancy dm
>w<

He is an ooooooooooooooooold player that I played with wayyy back when I just started for a while. He was different...
He was very skilled, but preferred unorthodox troll tactics (troll comms and the like... think Rooks but better ;). He also had semi frequent gamer rage moments (think you but worse?).... After getting moderated a ton he had his account deleted and left (RIP). Or this is what I think happened after reading dozens of old forum threads...

Firepluk
Warning.
Due to your years-long history of incessantly belittling teammates and complaining about other players, the moderators have decided to revoke the benefit of the doubt when reviewing your communications. There is now a zero tolerance policy, applied to you specifically, for negative and unhelpful comments. Do not, for example, mark "wtf" on a choice made by a teammate, put "gg" on a teammate in trouble, call people names, or complain about how you think your team has failed. Attempts to find the line by 'being ambiguous' or 'joking' will be met with similar penalties. So will complaints about the restrictions or attempts to stir up drama - you had your chance to uphold the basic standards of communication that are maintained by most other players.

Lol..... (Also the mods were a lot less lenient back when Firepluk got banned. I do what you said at least 5 times in an annoying game and only gotten max 2 day ban.)

if logix was firepluk serious, he would be purple and much better...
also I remember rumours of firepluk getting like hundreds of warnings and mutes and dozens of temp bans.... 12 years is a looong time.

For context Firepluk was an extremely frequent ZK player, acted in the way described in that warning near-incessantly, and it still took many years before that modaction was arrived at.

A significant component of the problem was other people learning from and copy-catting Firepluk's antisocial behaviour. I think the teams room has become quite a bit less toxic in the time since Firepluk left.

What is your opinion on firepluk aquanim?

At his best, a quite entertaining person to play ZK with. At his worst, pretty intolerable.

Honestly, my memory fails me at the moments when Firepluk was toxic more than measure. Mayby because of the time. But the fact that he was a legend is indisputable.

Old Firepluk was a brilliant player that got bored with the game I think. He would basically pick a troll strategy that appealed to him and try win with it.

He went through a phase of disintegrator gun trollcomms and no enemy commander was safe. When he was successful it was extremely demoralizing as he'd zip around the battlefield invisible basically shooting the crap out of everything. My own commander was a particularly favourite target of his and he'd always remember to send a message telling me how tasty the wrecked chassis was. On the other hand if he failed in this strat he'd just give up and go afk which was also infuriating if he was on your team when this happened.

Another phase he went through was his nuke phase. He'd make Athenas to hoover up any scraps of wreckage on the frontline while rushing nukes. He'd also scout with air and make his own silos to stun enemy antis. Very rarely do you get a player that singlehandedly forces his team to work to his strategy or lose. If you could hold the lines for long enough he would win the game for you. On the other hand he sucked up so much wreckage that holding the lines became quite difficult because your own reclaim was reduced to crumbs.

I chatted to him a bit on and off and I think he's basically a good guy that also enjoys a slice of aggravating people and mayhem on the side. Ever read Harry Potter? Firepluk is in that book, and he's called Peeves.

How is that different to any other game strategy ?

"That new car is trolling the market with its unique design !"

Is troll today's new fancy replacement word for witch ?

Maybe I should call my new car "Troll".. :-)
