I'd like emoticon markers. Short, concise, and without the team-wide ping broadcast. Local-area things like thumbs up, "sorry", "bad idea", "this is bad" and stuff like that. Also I think they should fade away by themselves within 5-10 seconds. We'd need a widget to summon them efficiently.

Can emoticons already be summoned with obscure escape sequences? Sometimes that would be better than words, for example a "good job" ping without requiring anyone to read anything. You wanna communicate without pushing noise on people.

I'd look into this but a recent unplanned pyrotechnic show hosted in my psu has rendered me unable to develop anything. I might not even have a computer left but I'll find out on Friday when the replacement comes. If not I might have to figure something out.
