Fascinating read! Thanks for sharing this in-depth analysis. I never play air, didn't even know it would be possible to compete against other aircraft with Magpie, much less demolish a Swift by timing a head-on flight!

I feel inspired to try Magpie monospam against AI thanks to this, maybe even lobpot.

Manual has been updated, now featuring:

  • Threat assessment/limited counterplay guides to static/mobile AA (will add more later)
  • Other co-op air options and unit uses
  • Minor fixes to previous versions

Roadmap:

  • Finish AA uses
  • Add more example game overviews and other diagrams
  • Add the rest of the stat charts I've been meaning to make

"Any advance of your enemy into a territory with fewer AA units than Artemis actually becomes a gamble, requiring him to be willing to abandon his units."

To be honest, I'm not sure exactly what you meant (perhaps you used Artemis as an analogy), but I disagree that Artemis is a good counterargument against magpies. Her rocket costs 100 resources, exchanging for a relatively cheap magpie and having a chance to simply lose all charges on weak units and miss a key attack.

In any case, very good analytics. Thank you.
