smurfs are breeding

just a fyi

last few days i have seen yellow and orange players with very recent accounts obliterating silvers and blues me included.. they know what units to get and avoid trash units and they they know how to play.. rusing super mex.. sniping coms.. reclaiming.. walling.. great unit counters and insane micro.. they do things noobs dont do.. they have skill and wisdom..

concider this a warning to those who want to keep the elo they have earned.. i believe there are currently above average smurfs in the wild

Last days there was a server restart. This resulted in the number "active players" (listed in ladder) to go from 3k to 1.5k. This results in an immediate decrease of ranking (for example for me, the next game I would loose I would become silver). I personally think this yo-yo with the rank color based on server restart to be kind of annoying considering the rank system should have "inertia".

Of course that does not mean that there is no smurf wave, but the re-coloring can contribute to the noise and chaos. I think the best is to check their actual WHR value, not the color. I have seen yellow or silver with a WHR of 2200 or 2300 in a game some weeks ago, so the system might work as expected.

the problem is it breaks the auto-balancer.. some people find loosing every game they play to exploits a bit broken.. there are ways to combat it like top down new player default ranking.

i understand. im sorry the world often seems so full of hate but perhaps they dont hate you and only wished to convey a dislike of the wording or message you chose. a bit like how you disliked my comment answering your questions.. i will continue to choose not to downvote you. and you can if you wish downvote me..

the people who do smurf are probably nice and just desired a means to feel better about themselves.. sadly there is not much honor left in this realm.. society as a whole has shifted towards lies and wrong has become a point of view..

i believe the right thing to do.. is that wich prevents harm including conflict.

but i fail to avoid conflict the moment i get involved =/ i guess i still need practice

I personally try to not down vote a comment unless I think it should be completely hidden, which in this case I do not.

To that I would add that this community functions according to some rules (some that are more obvious than others, like "do not team kill"), rules among which there is "no multiple accounts" (what is usually called smurfs). Edit: SmokeDragon I think conflict is a healthy way to evolve. Too many (negative) feelings about conflicts are very bad for everybody. We all have to accept not everybody has the same opinion and not feel angry/sad/annoyed that others have a different opinion. I for one would hate to live in a world with clones of me - it would be boring.

i had an idea it might not work but im going to try running a teams by rank room.. so that all reds are on a team all purples on another.. with equal coms off

it would stop smurfing but ill never get the numbers and policing it will be a chore with players switching teams last second

edit: success i managed to get a game... and tested it.. it fixed smurfing but was not very balanced.. i dont think its a very good solution
