Learning is like gambling in some sense.
When you are learning, you are often taking a bet that the skills, information or knowledge that you are learning will be useful in the future.
When you are playing a game like Zero-K, you are usually trying to discover who will win the game, and what strategies will lead you to victory.

Even when you are doing passive activities like watching a movie or a sports game, you are usually taking a bet that you will enjoy the time spent watching either alone or sharing the experience with others. You could have a bad time or perhaps do something more enjoyable instead.

Here are some videos showcasing how Prediction Markets are trying to claim they are information technology/discerning/tools/discovering and NOT gambling.

The powers at be will take advantage of you for the love of the game.
You can bet on it!

So are you addicted to gambling when you play Zero-K, or are you addicted to learning?

Since we are gambling the currency that we're betting on for specifically zk would be time spent and enjoyment gained as ya said. The latter more than the former tbh, so since I enter a match the biggest payoff would be me winning as that provides the greatest return on investment. And since enjoyment is linked to dopamine release which is something that gambling preys on I'd say i'm addicted to gambling and would be very weak to such tactics(the ones employed by these platforms) therefore it is best that I amuse myself with winning and (mostly) losing games. It serves as a good substitue so I don't try to open up an account in some platform where real money is at risk.

So for me the addiction is of gambling and learning is something that happens as a side effect as I try to gain more enjoyment out of the game.
