1
I keep thinking it over and I'm worried that the best approach to skip the complicated discussions of "is raider->skirm okay? What about riot? Assault?" and just make a very simple blanket rule: No morphs for raiders/scouts. it would suck, but that avoids the huge mobility buff that creating a slow unit out of a raider represents.
1
I keep thinking it over and I'm worried that the best approach to skip the complicated discussions of "is raider->skirm okay? 2 I think raider morphs are ok in principle as long as you're careful. Looking back to my suggestion, most of the raider morphs are to assaults or other units with similar speeds to the raiders, and most of them would be able to get whereever that raider had got to. 2 I think raider morphs are ok in principle as long as you're careful. 4
Cloaky: Glaive -> Scythe - almost certainly fine 4
Cloaky: Glaive -> Scythe - almost certainly fine
5 Shield: Bandit -> Thug - a Thug or two in a group of bandits or on its own is not that great a threat 5 Shield: Bandit -> Thug - a Thug or two in a group of bandits or on its own is not that great a threat
6 Jumps: Pyro -> Jack - this one might be a problem since Jack is pretty slow and devastating if it gets into your base but the options for Pyro morphs are pretty limited. Maybe this is a case where Pyro being such a good unit otherwise can do without a morph. 6 Jumps: Pyro -> Jack - this one might be a problem since Jack is pretty slow and devastating if it gets into your base but the options for Pyro morphs are pretty limited. 13 An advantage to starting with a simple system is that if it needs to be tweaked it will be more obvious how. In addition, adding more morphs later if desired will be a much more painless process than taking some out, I imagine. For instance you might later augment to: 13 An advantage to starting with a simple system is that if it needs to be tweaked it will be more obvious how. 17 Shield: Bandit -> Thug, Rogue -> Racketeer, Outlaw -> Aspis (I really don't like the idea of a morph ending in Felon, the point of Felon strategies is that the Felon is your critical point of failure) 17 Shield: Bandit -> Thug, Rogue -> Racketeer, Outlaw -> Aspis (I really don't like the idea of a morph ending in Felon, the point of Felon strategies is that the Felon is your critical point of failure)
