Fullscreen apps are bad, alt-tabbing is a pain. It doesn't even seem necessary considering all the blank space in your screenshot. Better to just make it fixed size windowed mode, like LoL or Hearthstone client, much easier and less discouraging that way.

It's not that difficult to do, and with fireworks you can edit each frame and crop out the background etc but that picture looks like actual artwork, meaning you'd need the original artist or someone who can draw to animate it. Also I doubt having a constant animated picture in the back of the whole client would be as nice as you think, it's best used when it's more subtle. Since you mentioned Hearthstone, you'll notice the client itself has very subtle animations.

Can I make a random suggestion while on the topic of changing the lobby, why is that "hashing maps" loading bar on start up necessary? I've played for so long and I still have no clue what that even means, it's useless information to me as well as most other players I would imagine. It'd be nice if you could minimize unnecessary clutter and get rid of that "cant find path" pop-up thing if possible
