Alt tab back to the game and write /spectator into the ingame chat. Now you are free to spawn units for both teams, have vision of both teams and play around with or test units as you please.

The syntax for the command to spawn a bunch of units while in godmode is:
7 |
/give number_of_units internal_unit_name team_id
8 |
So for example, /give 7 corraid 0 gives 7 ravagers to team 0 and /give 2 correap 1 gives 2 reapers to team 1.

Internal unit names are easily obtained from multiple sources, including the ZK repository on github and the unit manual. In the case of the unit manual just hover over the icon/pic of the unit and you'll see something along the lines of internal_unit_name.png.

There's probably other ways of doing all of this, but it works and I find it useful when I want to get a very crude understanding of how a new or rebalanced unit fares against other units in a sterile environment.
