I can't quite put my finger on what about those maps with mostly "lower third" votes makes them the worst, but I do agree with the ratings in general. When I think about these maps I get a sense of "boggishness", like they're hard to move through with the factories they support. They also generally tend to pull you away from the center because of their metal distribution.

So maybe it's a combination of being spread out, sluggish to travel around, and difficult to defend? Anyone else have a better summary?

The highest rated ones are generally easy to get around on, have a clear reason to control the center, less emphasis on the corners or edges of the map, and support the fast factories (which in general feel better to play right now).
