1
4. Are big games just another phase for zero-k? Just like the meta, once the new zero-k players get more established, will they not try to change how they play by going to smaller team games? 1
4. 3 And if it is just a phase, is it really right to change the lobbies in this way? Artificially controlling the size and impact of clusterfucks by changing the lobby sizes, does seem like an appropriate way to stop this, but, as snoke said, they've already done this in the past. Will we simply revert the change when its agreed that this "single room culture" is dead?
3 And if it is just a phase, is it really right to change the lobbies in this way? 4 The "single room clusterfuck culture" has been going on for years. I don't think it's a phase. If it is going to exist anyway, the room being an autohost seems less problematic than being a custom room (the host of which is frequently a member of the community in less than ideal standing). 4 The "single room clusterfuck culture" has been going on for years. 6
If you're going to arbitrarily decide to unilaterally take away an option for people wanting to host custom games (Goodbye, option to play clusterfck ai games with friends), you should at least probably take down that whole 'Enjoying epic scale combat? Join our 16v16 team battles!' you've got on the Steam store page, since that's apparently no longer a selling point and also shame on you for enjoying that, yeah?
6
If you're going to arbitrarily decide to unilaterally take away an option for people wanting to host custom games (Goodbye, option to play clusterfck ai games with friends), you should at least probably take down that whole 'Enjoying epic scale combat? 7 16v16 still exists - just not in a custom host. It's still quite playable through the autohost. Ideally this change will address the problematic culture surrounding large teams in general while still allowing 16v16 to exist. 7 16v16 still exists - just not in a custom host. 9 I don't think any of this affects AI games (unless you somehow have more than 16 friends who all want to play in the same vs AI game? I am unaware of this being a thing that happens). 9 I don't think any of this affects AI games (unless you somehow have more than 16 friends who all want to play in the same vs AI game? 11
But I play the game exactly for the cluster. The other day when it was only 16 players room, I just logoff and went play other games. If I want a competitive game, there are definitely better choices.
11
But I play the game exactly for the cluster. 12
Edit: Also, on the topic of 'are big team games taking away from small team games;' I don't play small team games. Period.
12
Edit: Also, on the topic of 'are big team games taking away from small team games;' I don't play small team games. Period.
13 We are aware that this is a demographic, which is why 16v16 is playable through the autohost. It is not the only demographic. 13 We are aware that this is a demographic, which is why 16v16 is playable through the autohost. It is not the only demographic.
