bolas does have a great strength, its slow gun, you should [u]NEVER[/u] engage bolas with a lone unit, that unit will be slowed down and die no mater what it is. but if you have 2 or 3 decent DPS units the BOLAS will die very easily to your army

the key to defeating Bolas is to [u]make sure that they shoot something that you do not mind loosing[/u] or can take a beating, early game a commander is excellent as a damage soak while your other units shoot the bolas. later in the game assault units are the best. let the assault unit go first and take the fire from the bolas, then go in with DPS focused units like riots and destroy the bolas while they are shooting at the beefy assaults.
