1 I would dispute that Bolas beats Kodachi pretty convincingly in a 1v1 scenario actually, the outcome is heavily micro dependent, like a harder version of Kodachi vs Venom (Venom easily wins in a straight fight but is more expensive and slower, Kodachi can force bad fights with its raw speed and still does passable damage even if caught, despite Venom having the range advantage on paper).

3 Kodachi has an easier time taking potshots at the Bolas but it takes several shots to win the fight, and Bolas has a harder time getting the jump on Kodachi but landing just two slow ticks is enough to secure a kill (117 speed Kodachi was a lot more resilient to this). It's possible to blunder a Kodachi pretty badly and die to a Bolas while leaving it at half HP, but most fight outcomes should result in the survivor being at low HP. 3 Kodachi has an easier time taking potshots at the Bolas but it takes several shots to win the fight, and Bolas has a harder time getting the jump on Kodachi but landing just two slow ticks is enough to secure a kill (117 speed Kodachi was a lot more resilient to this). 5 Of course this is in a straight fight scenario, but since Kodachi is cheaper and faster, it has a good chance of getting past the Bolas and going for the mexes, forcing the Bolas to get into a bad fight state or take economic damage. Getting two Bolas to fight a Kodachi is free pickings, but it should be difficult to get into this position, and even fights between the two are pretty volatile. 5 Of course this is in a straight fight scenario, but since Kodachi is cheaper and faster, it has a good chance of getting past the Bolas and going for the mexes, forcing the Bolas to get into a bad fight state or take economic damage. 7 ( This is playing at 200ms of in-game ping, I think Kodachi really benefits from low latency so I wouldn't be surprised if the unit was quite a bit worse in Australia. I think my own Kodachi micro is only mediocre, the unit definitely has a lot of micro in it, especially in groups or with Blitz support. I definitely agree that defending against Kodachi is hard for Hovers early game, and Kodachi vs Bolas balance is very delicate. ) 7 ( This is playing at 200ms of in-game ping and decent APM, I think Kodachi really benefits from low latency so I wouldn't be surprised if the unit was quite a bit worse in Australia.
