As for other setups: most values have just a single way to make them from 1, 3, 5 and 7, which is how boxes will look like (e.g. 9 = 1 + 3 + 5). The exceptions are 14 (which is impossible and returns 15 boxes, i.e. everything except the very middle) and 8 (which can be either 7+1 or 3+5, the map picks one of the two randomly).
