[q] Paladin prefers to sit at a range where opposing high-DPS units cannot engage it, and then harass with the big laser and EMP missiles. [/q]

Well, as I wrote, this is not how it is usually used. This is why the Dante-issue motivated the post. In contrast to Dante, "Paladin" is quite a fitting description, since it usually means "tank + support mage". In this, Paladin doesn't have the problem of it not fitting the unit's image.

[q] If a Paladin is doing a large amount of engaging with its lightning sidearms against any serious threats, something is probably going wrong. [/q]

Yes, but at the same time, if it doesn't do that, it does not make use of it's large hp pool. The lightning sidearms are not great for cost, but they are still powerful enough that a Paladin is not ignarable... Something that would be weird for a 10000m+ unit anyway. The costrange also puts this unit at the periphery of the unit class system.

Hypothetically, if there were a 50k metal artillery piece that had something like 100k health, it could probably walk into an enemy base and fire at their backline, then retreat. So, at this point the usual unit classification would not make sense anymore. And maybe Paladin is at a spot where this starts.

(
This
is
a
clarification
post.
I
have
reached
the
"I
feel
like
spamming
the
zk

point
already,
so
I
will

So,
I
think
"Long
Range
Support/Assault
Strider"
would
be
my
preferred
option,
but
that's
ofc
up
to
you
devs.

I have reached the "I feel like spamming the zk forum" point already, so I will try not to do more for today.
