Hi, Cliver here.
Gunships suck.

Gunships suck.

Or do they?
See, the biggest problem with Gunships are: Anti-Air. What are Anti-Air weak against? That's right: Anything that isn't air. But ground units are too slow to catch up to the nasty AA. Or do they have to be? For while AA are very useful against hostile gunships, they are practically a waste against... transports.
With transports, even the heavy Dante can catch up to a ball of Anti-Air and make the enemy regret buying something with the value of NFT against something that doesn't even deal damage.
But then, oh no! There is a problem! The gunships have no escort! Ground units are too slow to catch up, planes are bad at escort, but what if... there was a flying unit that hovers, that can defend the vulnerable transport from enemy attacks?
According to my analysis, anti-air is expensive. Hercules is expensive. To destroy a hercules, the enemy needs up to 900-1200 worth of metal just to destroy the hercules in a single volley. Revenants have twice the health, which means it takes twice the metal to take out a Revenant using AA that's made for... the transport.
And when the enemy's AA piles up, becoming twice, three times more expensive, the enemy has spent a lot of resources and- Krow.
In conclusion, gunships suck! As an offense force. But perhaps gunships weren't meant to be used as an offense force. Perhaps the main purpose of gunships, the only factory with transports... is to transport... and protect those transports.
