tweaking lances with the pricetag changes NOTHING. this was won by 2 lances.

Not even close. This could have been won by anything.
  • Mid was 3v4 at best, with USrankgohanblanco4009 pushing up the the river on the right unopposed, then sending his comm to the East hill. He sent some Fleas into the left side, and had a few Recluse at the end when it was too late.
  • Mid left is where the action happened, and it was barely 2v4. TWrankgounson8989 had to keep sending Glaives West to help out.
  • Why does this even happen? Because DErankdunno spawns with two comms, DErankHoppili gives him a third by resigning 100 seconds into the game, and South has a player on each side plopping ships. That's 28% of South's income being spent on ships.
  • On Lance itself, DErankdunno gets a comm Lanced, then the comm walks forwards into enemy turrets for five seconds on low health, dies, and DErankdunno puts a marker on it saying "auto reclaim :(".

the screenshot at hand displays the reaction to a previously executed assault from south towards north (at the position where now is a lotus forrest).

it was way more intense, but on display it is only shown the aftermath. south had the upperhand in units, but we reacted and moved more units to this location to create nummerical advantage. lance snipes essential units, so the rest of our units can work with advantage. also to secure the reclaim. and you CAN see, that the right front was left intentionally understaffed which is quite a gamble/risk. this opportunity was not taken by south team, and the game was won.

also, on both sides/sea, the south team was pressing harder but not succeeded before resign.

I was playing badly here because, tilted from the previous game where roughly 3000 shockleys were sent at my army, I was trying to figure out a shockley abuse strategy with bandits for cleanup, but it never got to that stage so I just ended up with mostly useless bandits.

The Lance was certainly good, I just feel like it didn't have to have worked out so well, and given the resources on each side it felt like many other things would work. The fronts were about even in cost until the commander was Lanced then walked into Lotus, after that it was pretty dire, as the Lance side had a decent Lotus forest and the reclaim.

After the first Lance shot the armies are as follows.
  • North: A Lance supported by three commanders, a forest Lotus, and miscellaneous riots.
  • South: A commander and some light raiders and skirmishers that sum to less than half the metal cost of the North army.
The North army is going to be able to hold the reclaim and snowball it into a greater lead. Especially when more players are involved.

Basically I'm saying that Lance is allowed to be as powerful as it needed to be to win this game, because Lance could be a lot less powerful and it still would have won this game.
