In this case it's just the awful performance of Spring causing my GPU to crash. Theoretically this is a fault of the GPU drivers, but the commercial game engines still make it work, even if the game is a demanding AAA title..

I doubt you'd accept "quadruple fps" as a bug report. How about implementing LOD? How does our texture subsampling look? Where is the expected draw/sim thread independence?

You should know that this is extremely complicated, mostly since unsynced lua can call syncedread.
Doing so will mean that either you won't be able to show custom stuff with lua or you'd have to explicitly copy the things you do wish to show every frame - this will make all game code much uglier.

But hey, at least we have CSI the non-crashing AI (it rhymes so it's true).
