Why did it separate me and Znack in this game?
Both Shaman and dark_gf had higher rating than him.
Splitting up our squad just drains us both of energy and makes us don't really want to play.

Yeah, separating the party after the game have started is a big letdown.

Parties are really meant for the matchmaker, but neither matchmaker nor Teams should make unbalanced matches. That's why you'll hardly be able to play with another top player in a party in small teams.

Big teams should be more reliable in keeping parties together, as elo equality can still be assured by juggling around unpartied players.

What would you want the game to do? Creating even less balanced matches is surely not going to be of much help.

But in this case, wouldn't the game be better balanced if Znack was on my team instead of _Shaman?

I'm guessing the balance in this game was made strange by the two very new players, the numerically uneven teams, and possibly other parties.

It does seem odd that Team 2 is predicted 66% to win when switching Shaman and Znack would (probably?) reduce this discrepancy. Perhaps there is a bug somewhere.

You can't use the chances shown here to infer anything about the balancer. The balancer uses a different elo (decayed elo) instead of the actual elo.

This intentionally skews balance in favor of people who haven't played for a long time or are new.

Perhaps the chances shown here should display both (either to admins or to everybody) to make resolving questions like this easier.

When friends play games together they dont want to be on opposing sides, its not rocket science

Whats the point of having a party system if balancer just does what it likes?

I get that theres not enough players to be perfectly balanced but then just make that clear from the start so people can go play other games instead of wasting their time.
