Aquanim, you are the prototypical populist community member that I've been complaining about... who only seem interested in attacking me or finding flaws in my arguments, without ever conceding what is actually damaging the community when it is reported by me. Just like I asked
Connetable before, what do you think is preventing progress from being made? Me making a few posts every 3 months or the fact that project has made choices rendering the project unattractive for new contributors, all while expecting to find incentives for a sole contributors? :)
There is no better way to illustrate the "shoot the messenger" habit this community has developed, when faced with embarrassing opinions/facts. I'm pretty sure you are raging because I've been cautious about not breaching the CoC... else, why would you even hope to ban someone from a perfectly civil discussion? Maybe you are troubled that nobody down-votes me... it must be pretty unnerving. Be assured, I correctly expected the fact that my posts would get no up-votes... or I'd not point fingers at an apathetic community which allows bad governance to constantly delay bug-fixing in favor of new features and waste money on penis-enlarging servers... (CoC breach? maybe! jump on it!)

I do note that you didn't actually answer my question about what the point of discussing this here is. Do you not want to admit your actual motive?

No. I prefer to comment on
your actual moves and as long as you are only interested in shooting the messenger, this is fair game. Accusing me of having a hidden agenda is silly, but since what I write is too embarrassing ("even if Sheep has a point"), you prefer to fantasize on what I do not write. Why do you even bother personally,
Aquanim? Are you personally affected? Are you afraid of change?
What is at stake,
Aquanim? Faith? Pride? Ego? Power? Control? Money? Moderator privileges?
IMO, none of that seems relevant for players who are reporting pretty worrying problems, while waiting for an influx of new players to play with, patiently, all while making "non-tax deductible donations" with the "reasonable" expectation that it won't be wasted.
quote:
Well, no. I do want to add "wilfully lying about problems related to project governance, with the purpose of damaging the project" to the list of bannable offenses. |
PRICELESS!
I guess it would only apply to a few "carefully selected" individuals... or you may end up in a pretty uncomfortable situation :)
Again... what is damaging the project? That someone is reporting on its failures?
I'm pretty sure you dream about burning journalists when they report things that make you feel betrayed... is it time to bring up the Godwin's Law to gracefully end this useless exchange with you?
