Yeah, steam release should be a priority, and train factory would be a nice update when we would have more players.

Will the fac be limited to only trains? Will you be able to "fit" smaller bots and vehicles into them?

This fac could have purly trains or trains along with semi-structural units that can mount or transport multiple units, or even create units. Or both. It depends how far you want to go.


Lauri has a interesting idea, trains without tracks. Maybe...something like a high-HP unit that can only move around whil powered somehow, while also being upgradable VIA new train cars to hold a grid or produce certain units. A cross between the spec-ops engie, a reef, and a power plant.

I have no clue how balanced in-action this would be though, i'm just throwing ideas at you.

Tracks are already CERTAINLY being replaced with extreme movement restrictions. Train will largely be support fac (repair, building, etc.) with some strong weaponry mixed in (warlord cannon perhaps, or mobile behe)

Think bigger. A train cart that can pick up and transport any static structure in the game, including Bertha. If the train cart dies, the structure stays alive and roots itself to the ground again.

Now this would be uniquely train-like!

Ps. Singu deliveries to enemy base, anyone? Would be a fun "stop the payload" minigame. :D

Stop doing research and models and rubbish, you don't seem to advance in any direction.

hoko's plan for trains:
1) Make a unit with a box as a model (or any other boxy model, such as panther)
2) Code it to move as something that resembles a train (post videos/gifs, I promise you'll encounter funny stuff)
3) Think of ideas how to actually utilise this technology you've just created.

Somehow even though you're at least 7 months "officially wip" you're still before 1 yet you keep focusing on 3.

moveCtrl works on buildings, so buildings can be thrown.

I must echo hokomoko's sentiment: you need to start coding stuff asap.
All this talk makes you look like just an idea guy, and the only positive thing you can hope for is that you'll annoy someone enough that they'll go code it in your stead.
