Nuke impacts crash game

For some reason nukes crash my game when they impact. It doesn't happen 100% of the time, but I would say it happens more often than not. It occurs *on impact*.

http://zero-k.info/Battles/Detail/53911

In that game (which, btw, was a mega-porc battle that will most likely crush your PC) I crashed twice. Both times were EXACTLY on nuke impact. It's not the first time it has happened, but the first time it's happened twice in one game. After the first crash, I reconnected, only to be crashed again by another nuke impact.

When the game crashes I get an error message from windows that reads:
Std: bad alloc

I'm posting here because a few other players have mentioned this problem as well.

System specs:

Windows 7 x64, fully patched.
All drivers updated as of about 2 weeks ago.
i5 2500k
GTX580
8 GB of memory

I'm running Spring at Ultra settings. If need be I can do some /cheat games and try some nukespams.

I have the same problem. This happens on MASSIVE nukes impact OR on MASSIVE fusion/geos chain explosion. 1-2-3 nukes/geos/fusion can explode fine.
Crash probability ~= count of explosions / x
This happens only in big and really laggy games.

My system specs like Antelope with little differences:
Windows 7 x64, all last patches.
All drivers is fresh and stable(no more crashes in other games)
i7 2600k
GTX580
8 GB of memory

Apparently an engine bug as it occurs in BA as well, as seen by this forum post:

Er... that wasn't BA, but it was another mod. So it's not just a ZK issue.

Try lowering your max particle count somewhat. It's the only thing i can think of.

everybody uses the same grafic card.

I don't have such crashes on nuke impacts.

Ubuntu 11.10
Athlon II X2 270 Processor
4 GB Ram DDR3 1067
Radeon HD 4770 - 1920x1080 screen resolution, low details

It is definitively either windows, your graphic card or your detail level, not spring.

>everybody uses the same grafic card

If by "everybody" you mean fireman and myself, then yes "everybody" has the same video card. 2 samples is WAY too small to claim its the video card. The guy who posted the first report of this issue on the Spring forums has a GTX 560 Ti, which is not the same. The most similar feature is that we all have high-end video cards, which makes me lean towards higher settings causing the issue.

>detail level, not spring.

The detail level is part of Spring. That's sort of like saying "it is the transmission, not the car".

I had this crash once when I was running (high settings) on an integrated ATI Radeon HD 4200. No issue since I upgraded to an nVidia GTS 450 (running on ultra).
