A few inconveniences

I'm experiencing a few issues with the campaign:

There seems to be no way to load a saved game from the lobby. You have to start a mission, call up the menu, then load from here. That doubles the waiting time unnecessarily. And loading is pretty slow despite my SSD (I wonder what the reasons for this might be?).

Saved games are much harder than they should be. It seems they discard difficulty information. Terraforming information is also not always kept, even the ledges that were present on the map from the start are gone. In addition, cloaked units in loaded games become truly invisible, while the commander no longer gets options like the ability to toggle cloaking or building drones, these states are restored, but the interface to toggle them is not there anymore.

Lose a mission and get the banner that you've lost. Load a game. Win it. You will get the banner that you've won. Then you will be returned to the banner that tells you that you've lost. Very confusing. That old game should have been gone, every trace of it, the moment my saved one started loading. Right?

I realize that the game is highly dependent on the online updates, but sometimes I really wish I could bypass the updater and go directly into the game, but there is no way cancel out of it when it's taking too long. If you close it, you don't get to play.

The EFX functionality doesn't seem to work with newer OpenAL Soft or with native OpenAL (Win7 64-bit):

1.1 ALSOFT 1.15.1 - latest working, had to experiment to find this one
EFX Enabled: yes

1.1 ALSOFT 1.16.0 - came with the game/same result with the 1.18.2
EFX: AL_INVALID_VALUE (40963)
Initializing EFX failed!

OpenAL version 1.1 - native (Creative SB X-Fi, game mode, EAX enabled)
EFX is supported but software does not seem to work properly

I was just wondering if I'm the only one who finds these things inconvenient, or even notices them at all.

I was unaware that save/load game functioned at all. Perhaps those buttons should be disabled until they work properly.

An "offline mode" for just playing singleplayer without updating is something to consider.

Save/Load is only partially implemented so it has quite a few issues. This is one reason that we've been aiming to make many shorter missions instead of a few long ones. Fixing save/load is a big task so I'm unsure when it will be looked into.

I have been asking for an improvement to this situation for a while. At when launched via steam the lobby will not do any auto updating by itself, it can all be managed by steam.

I'm also experiencing many of these issues and would like them fixed. They are really important to me to have working.

There has been some progress on some of them recently but there are more things outstanding.
