I prefer to show mercy to the opponent whenever possible. If there's no enemy, then there's nothing to plunder. If plunder is not within interests, then with no enemy, there's nothing to protect yourself with. If protection is not within interests, then the player will have a short-lived tale.

There is no shame. Only tragedy.
