Zero-K has a delicately put-together soundscape which balances the high and low tones to give off precise information about what is happening on the screen infront of you with certain piercing sounds being able to cause alert to quickly rectify a situation. Scythes for example have a loud noise which doesn't sound like any other so you know when the enemies are being sneaky.
A problem that this can cause is when you want to see what is happening inside Teams all welcome (which will now be refered to as TAW for ease) to cause your ear-drums to burst.
A simple suggestion i would have would be to mute sounds while catching up and perhaps play a elevator jingle instead (one of those catchy ones but not too catchy) To allow people to catch up peacefully without being bombarded by sounds.

A sound rebalance project by USrankFrequentPilgrim (with plenty of input from AUrankAdminGoogleFrog) is ongoing and nearing completion.

I think scythes are good for big teams, encouraging the making of smaller units and some semblance of map awareness and interaction. People are better against scythes than they used to be though with singus being elevated and silos getting buried etc. I understand why the scythe is loud, but scythe's aren't so strong we couldn't turn down the sound as a buff?
