i believe we are all important so for me this is not because of what we do to gain acceptance of ourselves.. i would infact say it is often the case that our achievements lead to divisions as we place our own self worth above others.. and like-wise others may do the same as they vie for positional social advantage..
if we seek connection then its lost on us that we are more connected as equals.. not in competition but in unity and the unspoken honor of bro's who share a game as friends and not soley competing rivals.. i prefer this over the vane envy of self congratulatory pride
that is not to say we dont deserve praise but rather that the seeking of such things may errode its own foundational self esteem and leave some in need to prove there own self worth via direct competative contrasts ever the more.
