Watch out for the hovercraft speedboost.

I love this map almost as much as jagerbombs

Would be interesting to know how much spawn position affects winrate on this map.

I would expect that east wins more often because it has the 3 clustered mexes at the start. West usually ends up stalling until it gets it's other mexes, which are then more vulnerable to raiding than east's.

Such a fun map, even if it is imbalanced.

(It is BA games but see no urgent reason why map asymmetry should matter more or less than in zK.)
On this page can see winner and start positions without having to watch the replay.
So I clicked on as many matches as I could before toast was done and counted: rrrlllllrrrrrrlrrrlrrrrllllll
16 wins for right side
13 wins for left side
A slight imbalance towards right side, but of couse that was not really an exact test.

The main problem is that there is no west side equivalent for the 2.8m mex above east start location

something that could be tweaked easily tbh

This has the same ridiculous hover speed problem as Icy Run -- please fix or unfeature.

I'm hoping for some speedhover tourney games ;)

PLrankAdminSprung, I guess the resolution is to set speed modifiers to 1.0? Can this be a made default-on mod option actually?

Yes, the fix does exactly that.

Should this map be featured? It's so old and has so many weird things set that seem to always be breaking stuff that I have to wonder if it's not better for it to stop being relevant and breaking things.

It's super crappy.

* mex layout is imbalanced
* texture looks misleading: heightmap variation is actually very low, the "craters" are flat
* mex spots look misleading: doubles are actually ubermex
* "water" texture is misleading: the blue areas with yellow around are not actually water with beach, they're dry
* gravity is insanely high
* fog is set to retardedly high levels (in teams, green and yellow look the same from max zoomout)
* it has hover speed-mod which is kept dormant but occasionally bugs out
* texture is not only completely misleading but also looks like puke, and mexes use snow (!) OTA tileset for some reason
* darkside already exists for silly rushes

Darkside hasn't been featured for a long time either, so far as I know. Same with Tangled Isthmus.

I suppose you can still get your cheese fix on Altair Crossing, Cooper Hill and Avalanche.

I think it is a good 1v1 map. I'm not sure how to objectively explain why it is good but it is just somehow enjoyable to play and usually makes for interesting games.

However the texture does look like some kind of microbial disease.

I honestly think it would be so straightforward to fix it with a quick re-color in photoshop and editing the mex spots.

I think you would need the source files to fix most of the problems with this map.

Probably easier to just make a new one, really...

"The source"? Unzip it.

As I understand it the image files (texture, etc) are all compiled into a .smf file even after you unzip, and I'm not sure how to get them out of that.

(If this were a new map the image files might be separate, but I doubt Geyser is new enough.)

EDIT: Indeed Geyser is an smf, smd, smt map. A decompiler exists apparently but it is not lossless.

EDIT 2: L3DT can straight-up read a .sd7 file, as it turns out.
