Is there an automated command for "Salavge"? I would like to be able to salavge units without having to click on them repeatedly. Is it also possible to change the Ai of constructors so that if they are doing nothing, they will salavge any wrecks they see?

Select the reclaim command, click on the ground and hold mouse + move it to create a circle/area.

You can also put your constructors to "fight" command and they will auto assist/reclaim.

There's multiple ways to do this.

Using commands and unit states: (recommended)
  • Reclaim + command queue
  • Area reclaim (+ optional repeat )
  • Fight (+ optional repeat )
  • Patrol (essentially the same as Fight + repeat)
[Spoiler]

Using widgets:
  • Auto Reclaim/Heal/Assist (mod)
Sets all idle units that are not selected to fight. That has as effect to reclaim if there is low metal, repair nearby units and assist in building if they have the possibility.

Keep in mind that permanent reclaim commands and the widget can lead to your units suiciding into the enemy. While automatic options for retreating and avoiding enemies exist they are probably not foolproof and can potentially mess up your own orders.

Personally I've had a better experience without the widget - it frequently lead to unexpected behavior. I mostly use area reclaim without repeat and occasionally queue direct reclaim orders to optimize pathing, increase safety or prioritize wreckage that could soon become contested.

Not fight. Move [A]ttack Licho and Skasi. You forgot that it was changed.

There's a widget called "unit reclaimer" that does what you want. (basically works how licho described)

Enable it in the f11 menu->units->unit reclaimer

Don't do anything USrankaeonios said. Don't press F11 or look at widgets.

To reclaim a ground of units:
  • Select Reclaim (press E or the command button).
  • Hold Ctrl
  • Left click and drag a circle.
  • Release left click and then release Ctrl.
The units inside the circle will be reclaimed.

I forgot about that. Yes, with recent changes control+area reclaim does reclaim units. The aformentioned widget only reclaims units of one type within the circle.

Also, units will no longer reclaim trees/energy by default unless you hold control while placing the area reclaim.

If you hold alt while placing an area reclaim it does the same thing as repeat.

There is a widget that can do that. It still mostly works, although there are certain things (like the display of queued buildings) that are currently broken due to engine/game changes.

Neat addition of the optional Ctrl- and Alt modifiers. Now I'll have to remember infinite+2 hotkeys.

Thanks! Now I can harvest fields of units

is included within zk, but seems to need some fixing.

All that auto reclaim/heal/assist does is spam random fight orders at idle workers. Workers on fight aren't guaranteed to do anything useful, and can easily get stuck helping factories rather than reclaiming. At least now they won't get stuck reclaiming trees though.

Yes, as NZrankhedgehogs already seems satisfied I just wanted to point out that this widget is theoretically part of zk and should probably be fixed or removed.

The widget menu has not been part of the approved UI configuration for a long time. If a widget is in ZK and there is no way to enable it via the menu (the menu button) then it's just about equivalent to it being removed. However, disabling widgets has been much superior to removing them as the latter causes people to cry.

A lot of widgets will probably be removed in the future and/or the widget menu will have a more obscure method of accessing it.
