Audio won't output to USB headset on Ubuntu

On Ubuntu Linux, Zero-K audio will not output to my USB headphones. Other applications and system sounds are output to the USB headset, just not Zero-K. How can I configure Zero-K to select the correct Pulseaudio or ALSA device?

I had a similar issue with ZK on Windows when using a new sound device. I could solve it by disabling the other device in Windows' sound manager and restarting the computer.

do you use pavucontrol? If so, verify that the correct device is set for audiostream spring.

New Ubuntu 1604.
I use phone headset with mic, so it has standard jack 3.5mm with 3 contacts. On first plugging I have no sound. When pull halfway out and plug in again. Then Ubuntu gives me gui to choose from 3 options (headphones, headset, mic). After select is done, I get audio...
