In any game just select windgen/picket and queue a whole map... Induces a HUGE lag for ALL players involved.

Apparently develobs weren't smart enough to limit the length of all build queues... not just pre-game onces.
We need limitation both on client and server side

Could someone explain why a queue length would affect lag at all? I can understand the number of items that are already built making a difference due to animation and drawing and scripts, but a simple queue?

Because it sends all this shit over network in the worst way u can imagine and all this shit being handled by the game on receiving side... + it draws when u hold shift

is it just super l;ong build queues? or is it on a large number of queued buildings?

if it's jut a large number of queued buildings, then having multiple engineiers max out heir queue would have the same effect, no?

I would suggest to limit the total size of build queue per player to something that makes sense... or somehow fix this performance issue(need to figure out what strikes most)

Only a pregame limit was added the last time this was a "thing"

Stop writing then. :-)

Also I think the bigger problem is the animation of windgen which eats everyones CPU

Weaponized as of today.. but mine is worse ;) I'll be giving all the cons very long queues. Let's see how they feel about 5000 orders of the same thing. Let's see if I can't crash spring using this.

Y'all could just... not.

It doesn't seem like something which would arise in or affect normal gameplay.

The lag-creating order queues are stored in replays and thus it's not difficult to trace who's causing them.

I suggest you don't cause them. That is advice.

so then, who was this http://zero-k.info/Battles/Detail/705463
and why did you not act yet

I suggest you do something against this. That is advice.

suggest googlefrog adds 'troll' button that players can press to nuke server..
trolling seems to be a major part of why some people are here.

maybe a way to pick up allied units with the mouse and shake them apart.. or a way to make a fake fly buzz around on there screen

we could all swap addresses and mail boxes of angry bees =)

because playing a game is fun

(please stop trolling)

Having watched it through it seems that
- Schneeeule made a long queue around 1:30, possibly by mistake, and relatively quickly undid it
- Firepluk made a long queue around 6:00 (apparently to test) and then undid it
(Attaching timestamps to your report, and making an actual report, makes it far more likely that an admin will pursue it.)

Unless there are reports of additional incidents forthcoming, advising people not to abuse this in future seems like the appropriate action in this case.

Is it so hard to create a -sane- limitation for the length of queues?
queuing over 1k shits aint gonna do any good...
