Since it appears that witch trials are all the rage right now, I'd like to put myself forward for analysis.

I reckon enough people hate me, that they want me banned.

Of course, I think I play great, but then, I would wouldn't I. :-)

No actually I think I play middle of the road, neither amazing, or awful.

Most games I find enjoyable now, since I ignored a fair few folk insulting me, and telling me what to do !

No thank you, I have my own play style, though I do occasionally listen to advice, I'm not going to radically change into someone who rushes to the front and dies trying repeatedly.

I'll gently play around the edges, and get my feet wet from time to time as I learn how to use various units, meanwhile I tend to focus on the more boring background stuff no one else wants to really do, like repairing other folks units for one.

So, lets see if I can get myself banned by complaining about myself, before someone else does !

Or do I have nothing to worry about...

Do you actually want this?

You know, players do get banned for what they do and say, conditions may vary but i have some tips and tricks to aid you on your mission.

Here are some "tips & tricks"...

The community forum: talk about yourself, yes that will definitely put you on the spotlight but that's no fun! you must do this correctly or consequences may never be produced and so on; First, complain and lie about events that might have or might not have happened then drop a few names and some gnarly comments about said names, look here's an example: Dugeri sucks at this game that I'm good at, you little piece of- got it?

Now that we got that out of the way, let's keep going...

Doing actually awful strategies and tactics then manage to get away with it, that triggers certain players into a mad man frenzy that has nothing to do with themselves, creating this over-reaction about seemingly mundane stuff that has nothing to do with their lives, just to ruin someone else's fun regardless of their circumstances or experiences.

Alright! you're still reading? dang! let's keep going, you really need a therapist now because this next ("tips & tricks") part will absolutely ruin your life for good...

Mind your own business and give two big shits about them, no need to fuel the fire when you can extinguish it right? wrong! (not really!) have some fun and make fun of people, their entire world is nothing but a sphere to them, always spinning around them with nothing to worry about; "idiot! stop suiciding units to them it's so frustrating to look at!" that's hilarious, now ignore them for daring to complain about your lack of intelligence, they won't expect the silent inquisition! (this will have chance of completely failing but that isn't your problem).

Now I'll show you the real deal, the pinacle of mankind's get me banned post series; POLITICS everyone seems to talk about politics but never about the politicians themselves, are they good people? seriously, how can anyone let them crooks with totally good intentions take command of the ship, they're no damn helmsman, you are! letting them exist any further on this world built by wise choices made by wise men that make logical and reasonable decisions for everyone's sake. don't let them fool you, research by yourself and ignore all irrelevant media that wants your thirst for knowledge, they are up to no good!

What was this post about again? doesn't matter... let us keep going!

Nobody seems to notice but the world is controlled by liars and evil people (mostly clueless democratic voters) that will do everything in their power to do good by themselves, meanwhile the hard-working humans are dropping tears of blood and sweat down the drain for basically nothing in return and still get punished for not doing it correctly. Poor lobster had it coming for becoming such ignorant. ha, loser!

anyways, part two will released once the unpaid intern is released from the lobster pot prison.

This post was brought to you by Lobster INCâ„¢ we bring tears of disgust to readers and lobsters alike! >;)

Sure, GBrankEridug, if you say so. You are among the few players that can really infuriate someone, right next to USrankJee. But at least you don't make boats on land maps so there's that going for you.

Roughly translates to "I play a team game but I ignore everything my team says and keep doing useless ""strategies"" that makes my team lose over and over again even after they told me to stop, and the only reason I sometimes win is because I didn't feed the enemy hard enough to make a difference, so my team was able to carry me through."

I honestly don't know if you're a masochist or just a clown. You're clearly not trying to win games because if you did you would not do this. Stop treating zero-k teams lobby like your personal robot sandbox. Go play singleplayer tower defense sense that's all you do.

I spectated 4 of GBrankEridug's last games, I'm not nitpicking because these are in chronological order. The replays speak for themselves, rushes fusion, morphs com, grids a few mexes then starts Shield + Chainsaw spamming. Even after team tells him to make units, he probably muted everyone. For someone that says he focuses more on "Background stuff" your team still feels the need to make eco and repair stations themselves while fighting in the front, hilarious.

I seriously don't know how you enjoy playing like this, where is the fun in this play style?

Now,

- Is he trolling? Debatable.
- Is he a detriment to the team? Not really, just a SimCity player, could be intentionally feeding and dragging games like USrank2023 / USrankDaKeys.
- Would anyone want to have him in a team? No.
- Would he win more games if he AFK'd? Yes.
- Would people enjoy games better if he wasn't here? Probably.
- Is it worthy of mod action? Not really.

The only thing one can really blame GBrankEridug is for not learning anything, playing bad or being utterly useless even after level 38. The only toxic thing he does is muting everyone that tells him what he is doing wrong which for a team game is quite ridiculous. If you're not here to play a team game yet decide to join a teams lobby you can respectfully get lost.

Showing 'other value' on the video would pretty much have shown the worth of the(useless) morphed coms, too.

No it roughly translates into:

"I play a team game where I ignore everything the less skilled players tell me what to do which I see as the wrong solution, and instead just listen to the players I think are more skilled."

I don't go around telling others not what to do, they can decide themselves well enough for the most part.

Sometimes there is the odd skilled player who does sensible things, but is just overly insulting when they talk to you, those stick on my ignore list, and yet will work with them in the game, and help them. ( I no longer have to put up with their insults if I don't see anything of them to read ! )

Isn't that how everyone plays ?

Otherwise, what if 2 team mates tell you to do opposite things, how do you know which one to listen to ?

Shield + Chainsaw spamming.
---

You make it sound like that is a bad idea !

I often see folk asking for Anti-Air cover, and no one building it..

Or I see a particular player who just loves aircraft and is very skilled in the game on the other side, and I think to myself, better prepare in advance for them to attack !

And shields, aren't they kinda useful for pushing fronts, holding what you already have ?

---

I've watched teams without me, and it isn't uncommon for folk not to do eco as well as it could be done.

Again with repair stations, often those are neglected.

When you see others doing it, perhaps they saw me do it, and thought, that's a good idea, I should do that too !

useless) morphed coms,
---

They can be extra useful, for example:

Build rate, with some metal in the bank, you can rapidly build defences, good for plugging holes, and pushing the front.

Weapon damage/range, sometimes that little extra bit really helps, rather than building fighting units, throwing them into battle and have them die within seconds.

Best to leave that kind of thing to those skilled in that art.

Speed around the map, so you can help folk out where needed, rather than arriving too late to the party.

A bit harder to kill when the assassinations squads target you..

Sometimes even folk on your own side when they get upset you aren't following their orders 100% !

he probably muted everyone.
---

I reckon I mute about 10% of the active player base, the rest, for some unknown reason, we manage to get along just fine helping each other in the game, and not insulting each other either !

I notice lately, those I've previously muted, appear to play less, so maybe I'm not the only person they annoy.

Yeah, those folk usually end up on my ignore list !

What is so annoying about building grid, protecting others factories, helping folk to build their units, giving metal to players on your side when you have a surplus.

And occasionally going on the offensive when I think I can be useful and not just blow my investment straight away on a suicide run ?

If you're not here to play a team game
---

I am very much here to play team games.

Doesn't anyone notice when I take risks and end up dead, trying to help the team win ?

Being part of a team does not mean doing 100% what certain people say to do, not when its the wrong thing !

I dont have anything against Eridug, and honestly here is a list of random thoughts:
-My reaction to him on my team is largely based on team size. For large teams he is a very useful and good player (economy, repair/support, grid, providing bp assist to players like me (thx)). I see nothing wrong with his lack of units in large teams (he plays well enough based on his rank, even better honestly with good support since most people his rank dont fare to well at the front anyways, so he is very useful). Now this becomes more complicated for small teams, like a 3v3 with eridug is much much harder. While support is good in large teams, small teams are far more intense and the short term need of units/front makes having eridug a -1 player. I would love for him to try playing more front in small teams (<5v5) but I can still respect his contributions in large teams.
-At first I did not like him too much as he spammed random economy and my first few interactions were in small teams. But after a while I sorta like him in large teams and have no problems with him. He plays well according to his rank (why do people expect way to much from new players anyways?) and does a lot of stuff that is lets others dedicate apm to the front. Sure he is not holding entire fronts alone or doing game winning flanks/troll strats, but he plays not too bad and helps with backline things (very good for his rank).
-TLDR: nice guy, plays at his own pace (we need to respect stuff like this for large teams open room....) and trys to do his best.

On a side note:
This whole series of things does expose a problem in ZK community. There is far too much elitism and good players demanding low ranked players to play good. Like a new player will 99% of the time build a storage, its just natural for new rts players to do so. And sure we can tell them to not do so, but its ultimately their choice to build storage and its just part of their learning curve. If its a <red, then its obvious that they are a new player and still learning, demanding too much of them seems unfair and rather like bullying. Though I suppose in small teams the opposite argument is valid as it becomes far more competitive and each player has a far greater responsibility to the team.

Side-Side note: am I on the mute list?

never about the politicians themselves
---

Oh I was one of those once, at college.

I found out there was going to be an election the next day, but no one was standing, such was voter apathy..

So I put myself forward, voted for myself the next day, and won by one vote !

In my first meeting with those in charge of the college, they told me I had no power to do anything, and no budget, and such folk like myself usually sat in the corner quiet and didn't say anything.

Well, that isn't me. :-)

I was a constant thorn in their side to get things improved for the students.

Speaking to the right people I got resources to action change, embarrassed the establishment on their poor spending options, and always had plenty to say at meetings.

I have considered the area of wider politics, but mostly after listening to people who already tried that approach, many of the good ones tell me its very hard to action any positive change, because there are too many bad apples getting in the way and stopping you.

So, maybe I wouldn't be able to do much good there.

So now, I post pictures on Facebook of things that should be fixed, that no one knows about, and as if by magic, they often get fixed !

But I'd rather do more, so I'm thinking the private sector is perhaps where I can make the most difference, with products folk want, that are useful, and can change the world for the better.

But what is useful to folk..

Well, one way to answer that is to play resource games like this, and see what resources are important to folk to win.

Getting and holding metal resource spots is one.

Geographic locations that give you an advantage over others, such as height is another.

Electricity supply is another.

Controlling the behaviour of others to do the best thing.

Well, that is pretty hard !

Maybe show by example..

Sometimes that is easy to pick up on, like in one game, early on, one player started to build a Singu, so I helped them, and what do you know, our side won the game, because our eco really panned out.

But you can't always do that, such as small maps, since it doesn't take the other side so long to reach you and blow up your efforts !

Other times, its best to distribute your energy production, so you have less weak points to target.

Whatever your winning strategy in one game, others will learn of it, and try to counter it.

As such, it might be a good idea to change your approach, to keep them off guard and unable to easily predict you.

Yes I'm not good at all in small teams.

I don't know enough about the finer points of many of the units ( In most previous games, I tend to nerd out and find out very tiny little stat of a unit, to give me that edge over everyone else, but nowadays I don't have countless hours to devote to such things, I have more real world things to nerd out on that need my attention more ! )

I do occasionally try, but mostly now I try to avoid small teams.

Storage is an interesting one.

I usually don't build much of that at all, but of course, if you forget to build any, and lose your commander, you wish you had built at least one. :-)

But lately, I've noticed a use for some increased storage:

When eco is running very well, and you don't have anything specific to spend your metal on that you see as useful, you start to get more than you know what to do with !

Of course, 30 seconds later, suddenly you see a need for something to be built ( Either because you thought of it yourself, or you see someone requesting something to be built at location X. ) so you rush over and start building, and you wish you had more in storage for these times..

But if eco isn't doing well, and there is not much spare, then storage isn't useful, I don't think ?

Unless as a decoy to make the other side think you have good eco, and to encourage them to target that area instead of another area you don't want them to target..
