Just lost 9 games in a row. This has never happened before. Im level 38 and I was 90% to blue rank, I had like 75% winrate. Today, for all my matches, for some reason I had to 1v4 my lane while the other lanes lost too. 2 games in a row I got the coms for 2 of my teammates, controlling 3 players, because they were afk, and I wasnt even the highest ranked player. Every game I either lost because my team was non-existant or the enemy was a 3 purple premade team with mics coordinating scuttles and lobsters and irises together, or both. Im out.

Bro, you're giving up too early. This world is for those who don't know how to give up. What would your father say? You shouldn't give up. You must keep fighting at all costs. So stop snotting. Rise and fight, warrior! And I'm sure you can beat your record and lose more games in a row

If you want deterministic games, play 1v1. Then you control everything and there is nobody to blame.

If you play team games expect to have occasionally bad streaks. If there is a smurf or a troll consistently on your team (it can happen) there is not so much you can do. If you care about ranking, better stop playing that time of the day. After some time you might even learn the players by mood and style. I know at least a couple of gold/silver that can either play like a purple or like a brown. I do not appreciate that much (most of the time I try to play to win), but it's part of the fun and chaos of a team game...

Even more funny is, the higher rank you have, the worse team you get, so get used to play outnumbered and carrying your team :D

I played lobpot and got gold and super close to platinum, then went on a losing streak all the way down to brown. Im blue now tho :)

perhaps it could be smurfs? i worry they are op but the balancer maybe thinks they are underpowered and that makes it even worse.

... maybe its already the case but if you balanced by win rate not rank then less smurf powers?
some people dont go for purple rank they prefer to win every game as a grey.

I went from ladder rank 18 to somewhere below 100. I was almost purple.
But the more depressing part for me is that me losing tons of rating somehow didnt really help to get better teams...

That said, I think it's okay to give up sometimes.

Maybe, but is an obsure rts in the depth of the internet the place where you put your efford and energy? Let's be honest: There are tons of better activities you can do instead of wasting time with a team that does not deserve it and will only make you feel miserable. Go for something positive to replenish your energy. Life is short. And when you feel you don't care anymore, then you will be able to play zk again!

The entire second half of 2021 was like this for me. It does eventually turn around.

Before I got silver for the second time I got close several times then had a losing streak and fell down a ton. But now I'm blue (technically silver because I only got blue due to elo inflation, and I haven't lost a match since the ladder reset).

HUrankNubrake sounds like you should stop playing lobpot and come join us merry few who care about coordination in Small Teams lobbies.

Even if I'm still a lob who loses a lot (and causes my team to lose sometimes) I still feel like myself and my team mates have a more enjoyable time in a smaller team game where we talk more and at least try to listen to each other amidst chaos.

And also throw in some 1v1 of course like suggested above. Unlike small teams you won't struggle to find players to play with.

Maybe that could help you appreciate your own skill level more. Sounds like you've been unlucky, and it's occasionally good to enjoy a 1v1 victory (or close loss) to remind yourself that you're skills are dope and this whole thing is NOT hopeless. And also that this is an amazing game based on an RTS engine with a design far more innovative than most RTS

And then finally: get stronker. Less Q_Q more pew pew. Man, I've been in some medium-sized team games where my jaw just dropped at how one person carried the team from almost-sure defeat to victory. Usually Atosty -- I love/hate playing against him for this reason, but there are many other players by whom I felt inspired even as they whipped my ass to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

So maybe I can ask that as a productive question for this thread: anyone got some good replays of a determined player turning things around for their team? Doesn't have to be like l33t purple skillz or anything, sometimes less experienced players hit hard with basic good sense.

yeah... I've stopped playing for a similar reason. Most of the people who left are quiet about it. So, probably a good moment to discuss. one of the few.

What solution is there though? There's already a ratings bump/decrease to try and break streaks (@GoogleFrog will know more).

Does it just need to be bigger? (not sure how big it is atm?)
