The reload time needs to be reduced. This unit has become so irrelevant in large games because it's literally unable to fire more often. Tanks are no longer afraid of them and can be pursued like any other army. Not to mention that dirtbags and blastwings make Lances irrelevant.

the problem with buffing burst is suddenly it deletes tanky units that can normaly do hit and run tactics.. using things like cloak strike and shield strike allow them to hit and escape. before nerf they were dominating

The "ignore cheap units" firing behavior usually solves this, imo.
Perhaps a slight range buff would increase Lance usage without being overpowering?
