It is unsupported, unselectable as an option, and no-one has voiced any interest in reimplementing it.

But I think USrank[ACP]ScarySquirrel means that mode where you could select a few units at start and then skirmished those vs the enemy, like a deathmatch without base building iirc. It was called "deploy mode" I think, SVN has some files referencing to that.
