Starlight OP, nerf pls.

I'm serious, look at that shit. Not even a Detri explosion in close proximity is enough to kill the damn thing. The only counter to Starlight is another Starlight.

Isn't it good to have a proper Endbringer?

Not when it only costs 16% more than a Zenith, 9% more than DRP, 46% more than a detriment - NONE of which are even remotely close to being an "endbringer".
35k metal is just 41 reapers for fucks sake. On the FFA scale, 35k metal is not that much, it certainly is not the amount that should give you an "i win" button.

Starlight's limited range also can result in stalemate. Imagine if i built my starlight outside of ITrankOldGhostStalker 's range (a much safer option compared to what i did). How would any one of us be able to win the game?

Fair point about the range being limited.

I still do think that the reason for starlight's existence is breaking stalemates and killing everything, not jut being part to an elevated RPS.

You beat stalemates either by a surprise attack on your opponent that manages to bypass his defences, or by having a large economic advantage. You dont do it just by building a magic superweapon inside your base that costs barely above other supposed stalemate-breakers. And no, in FFAs being able to build a 35k unit does not require large economic advantage.

Starlight needs to either cost AT LEAST 50k, or have its DPS reduced by 90%.

A 10% DPS Starlight sounds a little too extremely useless imo.

You clearly havent seen a starlight in action then.

The only reason it does not demolish entire bases in seconds is that it takes a while to point the beam. Watch the replay, look at how it can kill another starlight behind like 20 shields in 5 seconds. Look at how it kills a detriment in 10 seconds, a unit that can take like 10 nukes to its face.

Its DPS per cost is on par with crabe, while being able to hit anything across half the map with near absolute precision and power of 20 crabes.

An "extremely useless" starlight is still gonna be able to kill a detriment in two minutes, that doesnt sound useless to me, especially considering the range and accuracy on the thing.

maybe a slight increase in cost would be better. Starlight is the end game of everything. You basically win ffa with starlight most of the time. I don't play FFA much myself so it doesn't bother me that much.

It could always have a fairly large increase in cost to differentiate it from the inaccurate and less effective superweapons.

I've always been of the opinion that the Starlight needs its DPS cut to 30-50% of current. The shield-stomping device should be the inaccurate Zenith, which is like a mega-tremor. The Starlight should be a sniper weapon. And it definitely should not burn Detri's down as fast as it does.

Shields are irrelevant against Starlight. Terraform yes, on a map with high hardness (which is most maps), a tall wall is usually enough to shield you from a distant starlight.

People are often forgetting about Quake, the long-range terraform tacmissile though. It can counter most of those over-lategame terraform shenanigans pretty well.

Constant making a tall wall and some razor kises on top of them with caretakers behind to constant repair against starlight makes IT USLESS. Also RUrankYogzototh make a missile silo and constant stun the starlight, thats what i do in ffa's:D

Considering ITrankOldGhostStalker was the first to make Starlight and didn't win it's not necessarily a win button. That being said, the usage was pretty crappy and the counter was another Starlight.

In a FFA where nobody is clearly leading the first Starlight constructor will probably get mobbed by the other players. So that's something.

Pro tip in ffa when you are not attacked: Make starlight and keep it there in offline mode, make moar porc and eco+ funnyweb spam and smash the guy who starts a battle with you
