The fighting at the top shows how rockos can stop any tank advance. Everyone should watch this replay just because of the demonstration of how to properly use cloaky bots against tanks (i believe that there is also a issue on the google code page that is about wanting good screenshots/trailer, images/video from the fighting at the top of this battle would be great).

two average players with ~10k metal of light veh are repulsed by 3 defending noobs and 1 average player with 18k metal of cloaky, light veh, jumper and porc, plus the wreckfield.

It would have been a disgrace if the light veh players broke through XD

Who are you talking about with the 10k metal of LVs? What would the best way to counter the cloakies, when i attacked the group of zeuses with my ravagers they were slaughtered with the emp damage, they were nearly pushed back between my dantes and warloks ravagers but they just had too much porc.

Once the top porced (10 mins in?) the correct response for the top right side would have been to swing down and hit the middle. skirmishers are only effective when they have defences or riots to retreat into, they get over-run in the open.

Thinking in lanes is what makes most players so weak in teamgames. If your enemy makes a strong point, make sure he stays there and send your own units elsewhere.

So instead of trying to break the porc, help an ally next to you so you can surround the porc or get into the enemy base at a different point?

porc cant move. If the opponent opposite it you porcs, he is a) almost certainly a noob and b) literally only dangerous if you ram into him repeatedly. If you think in terms of lanes, your lane is harmless if your opponent is porcing, so you should jump into a nearby lane and help your nearest ally pound the shit out of HIS opponent. Attacking porc is pointless unless you are concentrating a big force against a small point.

You'll notice I was talking about this the whole game. I made 3 bandits and reclaimed my factory and spammed E. Then mid-game I sent them right into the enemy base, killed a screamer and a bunch of other stuff, morphed them to pyros. They got decorated veteran. Because I went through the giant gaping open hole in the middle of my map. My own defenses there were never attacked, not once (I also had giant gaping holes).

We would have had to hold the top though, they were not reliant on porc because they had loads of cloaky bots. Maybe if one or two of us had gone round and attacked the side/back of that emplacement leaving 1 or 2 to defend?

Look what I did with 3 bandits. Don't send your whole army, just send a few raiders. Even if you don't trash their economy, you force them to make a lot more defences elsewhere.
