SupCom-style strategic zoom?

Hi, the strategic zoom in Zero-K seems to work a bit differently than SupCom.

In SupCom, when you zoom out, the camera will collide with the map edge, so eventually at top zoom the map will be centered on the camera. You can then move the mouse to any point on the map to zoom in to there.

In Zero-K, the camera center remains fixed in place as you zoom out. So if you are looking at the bottom right corner of the map, when you zoom out, the camera remains centred on the bottom right. This means even if you zoom out as far as you can, the top left corner remains offscreen, so you have to pan the camera to zoom there.

Are there any settings I can change, to make the zoom behave like SupCom?

If I understand you correctly: yes all of those is configurable in camera options in settings or close to that. Start game with AI pause game and explore those. You can for sure change the zoom origin (center of the screen or mouse) that would achieve the similar thing.

Also in some camera mode there's shortcut (tab, ctrl + tab?) to toggle the zoom out to view whole map to do quickly what you describe - overview and change zoom to other place.

Thanks! For future readers, I found that the COFC mode did what I want. I haven't tried the other modes apart from default.

That COFC mode is specifically designed to do what you want, so you found the right thing. You aren't the first person to ask about SupCom-style strategic zoom, and the last time it got asked, it got implemented (twice, due to an engine change that broke the API being used).
