Claymore force fire on land

Since claymore mines aren't able to move on land, it would be intuitive that if you give a force fire order on land, the claymore will move to where you say to attack and drop its bomb there, like a bomber would.

However, instead it just stays in its current position and does nothing... I think this doesn't make any sense

The force fired bomb does not track on water eitherway. Its main use is to drop it when you are being chased by enemies so they risk walking on exploding bomb if they do not give up chase.
