Why has there been such a huge surge in how many people are using cloaking fields in the last week or so? The complete inability to see 90% of the enemy stuff is making me go nuts.

As a new person it could be a slight influx of new people like myself. Cloakbot is the first faction interacted with during the campaign. It could stand to reason that after a few maps in campaign new players then join multiplayer. When joining they might only be familiar with that one factory and choose it. Thus an influx of new players could lead to an influx of cloakbot units.

It's not so much cloakbot units, its just area cloaker spam with other factories. Or across the whole frontline.

besides, that is like a singu worth of overdrive spend on cloakers. and tremor or firewalker dosn't give a shit

Remeber when there was an array of frontline sunken shields that spread across half the map? All it takes is 1 person to force [A] to a specific meta.

I think merlin alongside an cloakbot con became something necessary, manually fire at the exposed enemy cloaked troop and flee.

Area cloaker is OP and was OP. They should eat more E i think. Another OP thing is cloaky construction bot with his small area shield. Dis thong is very OP.
However most area cloaker is coming from coms. And com area cloak is very annoying.
And one swift can be used to scout and arty fire manually. Then no problems with 'no vision' against buildings. Of course cloaked unit balls is annoying too. However there is some counters as well because everyone can build mobile cloaker from cornea and build imps/snitches. Dats my favorite tactics to deal with cloaked balls. Other is tremor (who should be removed from game i hate it) and firewalker.

increasing the e cost might work. generally on big lobsterpot i have a overdrive effiency of 3.5e/m. so a cost of 25e/s would mean around 7m/s of cost. right now it's like 3m/s.

EDIT: it's from memory of a game of comet catcher redux while i had 100+ windgens and 2 singus.
