The zenith won't fire properly at max range

The zenith sometimes fires a few meteors at max range but then it usually stops. Tested on a flat map without features.
Is it because meteors are spawned/fired from different locations and it can't fire because the point of fire is sometimes out of range?

I don't know it exactly, but it might be similar to this bug:

I don't know the code for the zenith, but if I might suggest spawning those astroids above the map terrain at a set diffrence and let the engine's gravity take over.
