Hey this is a thing, some people hang on longer, some pull the resign trigger early.. i get it.

But wptr_007 is a serial offender, practically playing to the last unit every game, never votes to resign. With experience people click and have learnt to end when it's time. this bloke doesn't.

I know this should be applied to pure reporting, but I wish to emphasize this behavior as BAD... games can be dragged out for a very long time whiles other wait, it's f***in rude.

I would list games here for examples, but its pretty much every game he plays, any regular player of late knows wtf im talking about.

I just hope he pulls his head in to allow other to play sooner or something can convince him to change behavior.

note: this guy knows what's going on, he knows engrish enough

(If my arguments are questioned, ill root up a quick 10 matches this bloke should have been kicked for wasting everyone's time.)

If the game is clearly over in a teamgame, it is up for the losing team to decide to resign or not.
It can be fun fighting on against the odds trying to get a comeback or just trying to do as much damage as possible.
You are an experienced player, you should have little problem cleaning up in a few minutes.

Some basic assumptions that you have left out of this discussion/thread:
Gametype. What game type are you talking about? FFA, 1v1, small teams, large lobpot?
In FFA you should never resign. As long as you have a con, you can have a comeback. See Multiplayer B1136649 6 on SplinteredTropicsDryV2
In 1v1, most skilled players avoid dragging out the game out of sportsmanship, but I think a player should be allowed to try and hold out for as long possible if they want because it is good practice, especially for newbie players, and the occasional big comeback is worth it IMHO.
In small teams, it can be fun to try and hold out against the odds. People can go and start another small team game if they want.
The biggest issue is the large lobpot, where players are just sitting around waiting for the next game to start without moving to another host and starting a whole new game.
To be honest, a lot of the time people start !resign polls way too early as people might just look at their own lane and start a !resign vote just because they have lost most of their units and don't look around the map to assess the situation.
Because of this, big comebacks are very rare in the lobsterpot as players are likely to !resign way before that.
Sometimes, a team even resigns with a just slight disadvantage or sometimes even a technical total metal advantage.

What if people want to do a last stand? Should that be forbidden in the lobpot?

Personally I think the worst type of players who wants a last stand, are people who just make defenses around their base and disregards the rest of the map because their play does not constitute good teamplay.
It makes sense to !resign before they get their last stand to avoid fostering such behavior.

If you know somebody on your team wants to make a last stand while you rather !resign and start a new large lobpot game, you can just keep playing or give away your army and cons to somebody, and then vote for !resign whenever it comes up again.

Not resigning when you're almost certainly going to die in a bit is not inherently against the rules or the spirit of the rules, as far as i can tell. (First part of the rule would be arguable, but the second part sorta leaves it as a grey area.)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but calling a team resign vote would require half the team to vote yes for it to pass, he would most certainly not be the only person withholding his vote in this regard. There is no sensible way for this to just purely be him, there would have had to been other people not voting. Why single him out?

Even if i am wrong about the previous statement, its not unusual for people to hold out until the end, even if they are going to lose. Has there ever been an incident of someone getting in trouble for just not voting yes? I can understand people getting in trouble for just calling a resign vote the moment they lose their com or after they play way too aggressively and just die; but just not voting?

I can understand it being annoying, I'd certainly be annoyed if someone wasted time like that but I don't think that there's some malicious intent here, unless a replay was shown with him just actively being an asshole about it.

Just spam RESIGN in the chat, 60% of the time it works every time.

I remember the good old days when people would report such incidents.

There are exactly zero reports indicating that he is doing this...
So without the mod team going trew many replays to find examples which is a big task...

Start reporting this behavior and then we can start looking if it is necessary to do something.

A question, have you tried to simply ask him why he does it, or if he could stop?

I don't understand English, I always use translation, although it will be very strange after translation, but at least I can understand the general meaning
There are situations where you really need to waste your precious time. There are some unbalanced games in "team welcome" because your own skill level is too low, or you can't play at all, but the enemy is very strong. Unbalanced games need to be punished. Of course, procrastination is not a punishment, is it?

For example, in this game, my teammates were obviously new,
My teammates don't know how to make more useful units. Only use some basic units and upgrade com and build some defensive buildings. They can't make Mex. I voted for my resignation very early, but it didn't go through. Maybe they think they can win. After a while, they couldn't hold on. Some players resigned, gave me all their units and wanted to kick me. Although the vote failed this time, I was very disappointed. In fact, this situation has happened many times, I am not willing to fail, success is to pay the price! Including games

Sorry, there are some mistakes in the previous reply. The following is the corrected content

Maybe this intention of "punishing" others that you mention wptr_007 is what is causing 4hundred to feel like you're an asshole.
