Are there any particular reasons to strider plate not exist?
Technically, we don't need it because it's easy to give a frame but in practice, in lobpot, it's difficult to ask or give a frame when you micro tons of things. Consequently, we build more strider facs.

Technically, maybe it is possible semi-share strider hub like metal extractors. I mean not to request owner to make a blueprint of certain unit, but give an opportunity to any player manually control this hub to place blueprint of his own. Of course without build power.

Better is to make plates than to allow other players to use the same strider fac. Some people would just place two or three nanoframes "just in case" they needed them and thus take a lot of space in the spot where the player who built the strider fac has his base.

If people were placing nanoframes and "hogging" all the space but not doing any actual building on them you could just reclaim them to free up space, but I don't see why people would make nanoframes in reserve if they could make whatever nanoframe they wanted at anytime.

What about a strider tab on cons that allowed them to place striders in proximity to an allied strider hub?

Nanotowers could become the strider factory plate. Striders would be added to their build options if a strider hub is nearby - no new models needed. That would also be more consistent with other fac plates and easier to make than with mobile cons because you don't have to update build options if a con moves.

A potential issue is that new players might get frustrated over the fact that they are building a caretaker when they wanted to build a strider hub. Plates are not used for anything else, and they clearly perform the function of a factory. Caretakers are used for other purposes so new players might not realize the strider-plate function. tooltips could be a solution, but some people might not read.

Failure or inability to read descriptions would make this game hard I would imagine.

even us from mc do this we ask for frames but usually ppl are busy doing stuff at front so eventually everyone makes theyre own hub to not keep asking for frames all the time

One thing to keep in mind is that the plate could not cost 150M like other plates, but at least 180M so it doesn't replace Caretaker.
Unless it loses the ability to assist.

Adding a plate to Strider Hub when in theory it shouldn't need one seems like messy design. I would prefer to see either:
* Some kind of mechanism through which a player can directly start a strider nanoframe with an ally's Strider Hub
* Strider Hub redesigned to work more like a conventional factory, and then add a plate

Making a Caretaker which is near a Strider Hub act as an impromptu plate is... not entirely without merit as an idea, but I don't know how easy it is to implement and the UI might be an issue. Normally a Caretaker defaults to the Orders panel while a Strider Hub defaults to the Units panel.

I think Strider Hub is intentionally not a conventional factory for the reason that it can build most expensive units and killing Strider Hub should not kill the produced unit.

I don't know what the rational for not making it a traditional factory, but I would imagine the fact it builds large units that are underwater, floating, walking, and flying might have played some role.

i think we really need this implemented in one form or other because 1 k metal in team games is not a small price.

another idea on how it could work is that instead of strider plate you get a building that could morph in a nanoframe of the desired strider because everyone will spam a plate around the "home gub" and it would get really busy
